The Perfect Mix
If you’ve ever tried mixing CBD oil with your coffee or tea, you’ll have noticed that the oil just pools on top and won’t really mix in. Even worse, you’ll see that some of the oil is left behind in the mug after you’ve finished your drink. Our CBD honey is specially formulated to be water compatible, making it easier to use than ever before.
Traditionally, CBD either had to be smoked or taken sublingually (held under the tongue) for best effects. Now, our water compatible CBD helps your body to absorb CBD via natural pathways, improving the clinical time to onset. This means you can simply use our honey as a normal food product and get results in as little as 15 minutes. Also, since your body absorbs our CBD more effectively, you may find yourself using lower doses than before.
When we ingest CBD, the body metabolizes it in the gut and liver reducing the total amount of CBD available to enter the bloodstream. This loss in bioavailability is known as the first pass effect and it limits the effectiveness of ingested CBD. Studies have shown that only 5-10% of ingested CBD gets absorbed into the bloodstream, which is about half as effective as tinctures taken sublingually.
To mitigate the first pass effect we incorporate our CBD oils with phospholipids (the same ingredient that makes up your cells), so your body recognizes them as friendly and readily absorbs them into the bloodstream; bringing you almost immediate relief.
Some companies only list the amount of ‘hemp extract’ in their honeys instead of actual CBD content. Others will use CBD isolates or hemp extracts without the addition of active carriers (MCTs) that your body needs to absorb CBD. Without Federal oversight or regulation, it’s incredibly difficult for consumers to differentiate between competing products.
We’ve chosen to be completely up-front and transparent about the ingredients we use and the benefits our products provide. We clearly label the amount of active CBD in each jar, as well as in each teaspoon serving, so you know exactly what you’re getting and how much to use.
Sustainably Sourced All Natural Ingredients
We manage our own hives and work with other beekeepers in Allegheny County to ensure all our of our honey is locally sourced. We don’t filter any of our honey and only lightly strain it with a sieve to remove debris. We also never heat the honey above 95F, the temperature found in a hive, to ensure all of the pollen and enzymes remain intact.
Full Spectrum hemp oils contain all of the molecules naturally found in hemp (phytocannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids). Using sub-critical extraction methods, we are better able protect these fragile molecules in order to provide a product that’s as close to the natural source as possible.
Without an appropriate carrier molecule your body would filter out the majority of CBD you ingest; providing you with limited to no benefit. To help your body process and absorb more CBD, our hemp extracts are carefully diluted with pure fractionated coconut oil (MCT).
Lecithin is a fat that is essential to every cell in the body. It contains a variety of phospholipids that are the primary component of cell membranes. Incorporating these phospholipids with our CBD oils helps your body to recognize them as friendly and readily absorbs them into the bloodstream.
